This koban is a landmark in the Ginza district of Tokyo

A kōban (交番) is a Japanese police box. In Japan, in addition to central police stations, police work is done from small buildings dispersed throughout the community. There, they can keep watch, respond to emergencies, give directions, and otherwise interact with the citizens.
