Kobayashi Satoru (小林覚, born April 5, 1959) is a professional Go player.
Biography
Kobayashi Satoru is a professional Go player who plays for the Japanese Nihon-Kiin. His rank is 9 dan. He has two brothers who are also professionals. Kobayashi Chizu and Kobayashi Kenji. Satoru is known for his pincer style.Suspension
In the beginning of 2001, Satoru was suspended. He had injured his Chunlan Cup opponent Ryu Shikun while he was drinking. After the incident, The Nihon-Kiin did not hesitate to suspend him. The suspension was shortened from a year to 8 months and Satoru was allowed to play in September. Satoru was said to be drunk when he smashed the cup into his face.
