| Koragg the Knight Wolf, or simply Koragg, is a fictional character from the American television series , the fourteenth program produced as part of the Power Rangers franchise. Koragg is based on the character of Madō Kishi Wolzard (Dark Magic Knight Wolzard) from Mahō Sentai Magiranger, the Japanese Super Sentai series that Mystic Force is based upon. Portrayed by Geoff Dolan, he is one of the primary villains in the series. OverviewKoragg was apparently the first released after centuries of imprisonment when the seal of the Underworld was cracked. Upon engaging the White Mystic Ranger, who seemed familiar to him, in battle, he bested her and stole her Snow Staff but spared her life. He is strangely noble for a villain, and will not attack a foe he considers to be weaker, citing such an action as a waste of his time and dishonorable.Koragg often openly dueled with in a power struggle, shows contempt toward , and bows to no one except for . He has also lied to Morticon, keeping the Rangers' power to become the Titan Megazord that he took from the Mystic Rangers for himself. Despite this, however, he has proven to be a loyal servant of Octomus and will help combat the Rangers more often than not. During the Great Battle, Koragg was able to tame the wild horse , who went on to become Koragg's personal Zord. The pair can combine to become a giant , or the stronger . Being a powerful, well-versed sorcerer, he can and often does enlarge himself or defeated to gigantic proportions with his . He also has admirable fighting skills in addition to his magic, and uses his Knight Saber effectively in battle. Similarly, the Shield of Darkness he carries also contains the hidden "Eye of the Master", making it a useful offensive weapon. When in battle with the Power Rangers, Koragg can reveal the eye to unleash the "Wolf Attack", powerful energy blasts in the shape of wolf heads. Another unique attack involves the sheild being thrust into the ground, whereupon it discharges a shockwave of powerful energy towards the intended target. Koragg is unique among 'Evil Warrior' villains, in the sense that by Episode 12 he had only been defeated twice, and only one of those was severe. Previously, Koragg often calmly left a fight of his own accord or whenever outside circumstances intervened. Even the first time the Rangers defeated him, when they summoned the Spirits of the Ancient Titans and combined their power into an incredible attack, that only knocked Koragg down and while he backed off he did seem capable of continuing the fight. Add this to his swift defeat of the White Ranger, his clashes with Morticon, and his defeat of the Gatekeeper, and Koragg appears to be the strongest Power Ranger villain of his kind yet. Octomus has been shown directly giving him more power and he has stated to the Rangers that he becomes stronger every day, which accounts for his continually high power levels. However, he was outright beaten by his main rival, Nick, the Red Ranger due to another mysterious power surge on Nick's part. Koragg was defeated and fell to the ground before exploding in a massive blaze but an enraged Koragg survived the near-death experience and grudgingly admitted defeat. After Morticon was vanquished in battle with the Titan Megazord that same day, Koragg found Morticon's sword, the "Fang of the Master" and claimed it for himself, as his Knight Saber had been broken in half during his bout with Nick. He hasn't been seen in the Underworld since then, as he was reforging Morticon's sword into a new Knight Saber. Koragg found another rival in Daggeron, the Solaris Knight, having battled him several times to see if Daggeron is worthy of being a knight. Koragg considers him a worthless teacher for training the Rangers to use their powers for good, but seems to consider him a worthy ally after he defeated him in Soul Specter. When Koragg returned to the Underworld, he took a slight disliking to , warning him that he only bowed to Octomus. As of Ranger Down, Koragg has temporarily given up all his magical power at Imperious's goading, determined to prove that he is a warrior even without his powers. Unbeknowest to Koragg this was just the first step in a much larger plan set up by Imperious - to allow him to destroy Octomus and assume supreme power for himself. When the mummy released the Four Barbarian Beasts from oblivion, Koragg seemed familiar with them, despising them for their lack of honour. Imperious sent Fightoe and 50-Below to attack the weaker Koragg and leave him for dead so he couldn't interfere. Disarmed, battered and beaten, Koragg was left with no choice but to ask the nearby Phineas for assistance. When Imperious used Jenji to create a world where the Mystic Rangers did not exist, it created a new timeline where it seemed Koragg and Phineas were allies, during which time Koragg, who was immune to Jenji's magic, told Phineas of the Rangers. It was also Koragg who had found the Fire Heart egg and raised the dragon within himself. Although Koragg sought for Octomus and the forces of darkness to rule, he believed that victory should be claimed through honorable means and sought to reverse Imperious' efforts. He approached the five powerless Rangers and told them of the way to reverse Jenji's spell by informing them of the Tribunal of Magic, and allowed them to use the Fire Heart Dragon to reach the Tribunal's dimension. Right after this he broke his alliance with Phineas, who seemed saddened saying goodbye to his "friend". When the world was returned to normal by the Tribunal's powers, Koragg sought Imperious out and demanded answers behind the two Barbarian Beasts' attack on him. However, Imperious lied his way out of Koragg's wrath by claiming he had nothing to do with Fighto and 50-Below's attempt on Koragg's life. Koragg joined the Mystic Rangers in fighting the two remaining Barbarian Beasts and was impressed by the great power they achieved with their newfound Legend Warrior powers. After the Rangers destroyed Ursus, Koragg broke his alliance with the Rangers, although it seemed that both sides had developed a great deal of respect for each other. Similarly, the Tribunal spoke favourably of Koragg's honour. By the upcoming episode Koragg's Trial, after winning Octomus' approval, Koragg will regain his magic powers, and Necrolai will no longer have her purple Mystic Morpher-like magic wand. Possible FutureThere is speculation by fans that Koragg was originally Alianbow, the Red Mystic Wizard sometimes seen in flashbacks related to the Great Battle. It is believed that he was corrupted by Octomus after he was sealed in the Underworld. While this and his familarity with the Barbarian Beasts is similar to the backstory his Mahō Sentai Magiranger counterpart Madou Knight Wolzard had, there is currently no definitive evidence to support this theory. A preview picture [link] shows at the top left side picture of a crimson-armored Koragg with the Rangers. Given how the storyline of each Power Rangers series tends to be modelled after its corresponding Sentai counterpart in one way or another, it is possible that Koragg will join forces with the Mystic Rangers towards the end of the series and gain new, red armor.
