Krisztina Egerszegi [ˈkristinɒ ˈɛɡɛrsɛɡi] (born August 16, 1974) is a Hungarian former swimmer, one of the greatest Hungarian Olympic champions of the modern era.
Biography
Krisztina Egerszegi was born in Budapest.Between 1988 and 1996 she won 5 gold medals (record) in backstroke races, with the exception of individual medley 400m at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.
She currently holds the world record for 200m backstroke, with the time of 2:06.62 set on August 22, 1991 in Athens.
