Kteis

Kteis is the Greek word meaning either scallop shell or female sexual organs. It most frequently is used in regard to the divine feminime or the Great Mother, Sophia. Sometimes the kteis is symbolized by the circle, as in the circle around the (male) cross in the celtic cross. Other times, it is symbolized by the vesica piscis.
