- This article is about the city in Mie Prefecture, Japan. There is also a town in Hiroshima Prefecture with this name, see Kumano, Hiroshima.
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 20,370 and the density of 78.36 persons per km². The total area is 259.96 km².
The city was founded on November 3, 1954.
On November 1, 2005, the city merged the town in Minamimuro District of Kiwa.
