Kwik Way

Encyclopedia : K : KW : KWI : Kwik Way

Kwik Way was a chain of fast food restaurants based in California, although only one location remains in Oakland, California. The last-remaining Kwik Way is owned by Alex and Charles Hahn.
Kwik Way is notoriously greasy and infamous. A deep-fried mouse was found in an order of fries in 1981, according to the Oakland Tribune. Kwik Way gave its name to one of Oakland's only Hardcore bands Kwik Way (band) and was featured in the Commander Cody award-winning music video for their tune "Two Triple Cheese, Side Order of Fries".

According to the Oakland Tribune, The last remaining Kwik Way was in negotiations for being sold to McDonalds in 2005, which was met with a surprising degree of protest. The negotiations fizzled and Kwik Way remains.

Kwik Way is also the name of a local chain of gas stations in Billings, Montana who sponsor the popular Kwik Way Night, arguably the most attended game of the season for the local minor league baseball team, the Billings Mustangs. Free tickets are given out at each station for a week leading up to the annual game.
