Ciara (P42) is a ship in the Irish Naval Service. The ship is named after Ciara, a daughter of a wealthy Christian family who settled near Nenagh, Co Tipperary in the 7th century. The ship was originally built for the Royal Navy as HMS Swallow for service in Hong Kong.
