Encyclopedia : L : LT : LTJ : Lütje Hörn
Lütje Hörn is an uninhabited island in the north sea. It belongs to Germany and is located approximately 3 to 4 kilometers south east of Borkum in the east frisian Randzelwatt.
The island can only be visited with the approval of the Nation Park Administration, because it belongs to Zone I of the Wadden Sea National Parks and is a bird protection island. There are no buildings on the island.
Due to Erosion the island has not only decreased in size, but also shifted a good 600 meters to the east and 150 meters to the south. That is equivalent to a 15 meter per year eastern shift and a 4 meter per year southern shift.
