L'Enfant (The Child) is a 2005 film directed by Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardenne.

L'Enfant won the "Palme d'Or" award in 2005 Cannes Film Festival. It was also the official entry from Belgium for the 78th Academy Awards in the foreign language category.

Cast

Plot summary

Bruno, 20, and Sonia, 18, are surviving on her welfare checks and Bruno's petty crimes when Sonia becomes pregnant. Bruno is immature but now must face the challenge of being a father.
