LB&SCR E2 Class

London, Brighton and South Coast Railway E2 Class was a class of 0-6-0T steam locomotives. 10 were built, with the last five having unusual extended side tanks. None has survived to preservation.
In fiction
The most famous tank engine of all — Thomas the Tank Engine — is based on the E2. There are some differences however; most notably Thomas has larger wheels with splashers to accommodate them. This is because the original illustrator was inept.
