LDS Church Office Building
Encyclopedia : L : LD : LDS : LDS Church Office Building
Built from 1962 to 1972, the Church Office Building is a 420 ft (128 m) tall, 28-story building located at Temple Square on the corner of North Temple and State Street in Salt Lake City, Utah. This makes it the second-tallest building in the city after the Wells Fargo Center. However, the LDS Church Office Building appears taller because it stands at a higher elevation. Its two observation decks on the 26th floor are open to the public. The edifice was designed by George Cannon Young and cost USD$31 million to build. The Church Office Building serves as the worldwide headquarters for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
