La Antigua

La Antigua is a municipality in the state of Veracruz, Mexico. The city of José Cardel serves as the municipal seat.

In the city stands the house of Hernán Cortés, a popular tourist attraction. The oldest church in the Americas was founded here by Cortés in the early 1500s.

La Antigua is also a municipality (pop. 606) in the province of León, Castile-Leon, Spain.
