Lacu Roşu (Red Lake) is a natural dam lake situated in the Eastern Carpathians chain, in Harghita County, Romania. The lake was formed in the 19th century, after a landslide obturated a waterflow. Even today in the lake can be seen tree trunks, the remainings of the flooded forest.
Lacu Roşu is a popular touristic place not only for Romanians, but also for Hungarian tourists that come in great number. Nearby Lacu Roşu we can find one of the most spectacular places in Romania, Cheile Bicazului (Bicaz gorges).Red Lake (Lacu Roşu) is the one and the only lake in the whole world in the concept of it's formation.
The tonic-stimulant climate characterized by relatively low atmospheric pressure, celan air free of dust and allergens and strongly ozoniferous account for the resort being recommended in the treatment of asthenic neurosis, wakly conditions, physical and intellectual overexertion, growth disorders in children, rachitis, etc.
