Lake George is a broad and shallow lake on the St. Johns River in the U.S. state of Florida. It is six miles (10 km) wide and twelve miles (20 km) long, with an average depth of ten feet (3 m).

Lake George is the third largest lake in Florida, after Lake Okeechobee and Lake Apopka. For a while, Lake George was the second largest lake, but the intentional breaking of the dike on Lake Apopka left Lake George smaller than the re-expanded Lake Apopka.

There used to be a bombing range in Lake George. The range may still exist, but one should check current navigational charts before navigating the lake.

The lake also hosts a wide variety of wildlife ranging from migratory water birds and alligators to a number of normally marine animals such as stingray, mullet, and blue crabs, and is also known to be home to one of the only fresh water blue crab fisheries in the world
