Lanigan is also the home town of the band Age of Electric

• Hockey player Bobby Baun was born in Lanigan. He is noted for scoring overtime winner for Toronto in 1964 playoffs against Detroit, while playing with a fractured ankle.
• Wade Brookbank of the Vancouver Canucks was also born in Lanigan.
• Brian Propp, a famous ice hockey player was born in Lanigan.
