Latamber is situated at the foothills of the Spenghar range.
The village of Latamber is lying at the confluence of Bannu (district) on one side and Waziristan on the other side.
It is at a distance of 160 Km south of the Provincial capital Peshawar. It is one of the oldest towns of Pakistan. In the past Latamber has been mentioned by various names:
- Latapur
- Latmar
- Latobar
Latamber is bounded on the south green desert of Thall, on the north by hills known as spenghar. The whole hills of spenghar covered with green grasses & trees .The poor people of Latamber go up to the hills & bring grasses and solved them. Therefore it is source of income for Latamberian.
On the west by newly constructed dam Changoious. Changoious is historical place of Latamber. There is a tomb of mujahideen of Faqir Epi Wazir. People of Latamber play very important role in the freedom struggle. Peoples of Latamber sacrifices their lives for freedom. Changgoious tomb is the sign of their struggle, on the east green fields of Karak.
Latamber is the home of many brave sons who have served and are serving in the armed forces of Pakistan.Some have rendered great sacrifices for the home land Pakistan. There are numerous public & private schools & colleges but no college for women.
Rural Health center Latamber provide medical facility to the Region.
Shahedan Baba is the famous picnic point. It is situated at a distance of 6 km from Latamber town. It is situated in between the Spenghar hills. The youth of Latamber goes & enjoy the Picnic here.
The climate of Latamber is extreme both in summer & winter.
