Lausitzer Bergland

The Lausitzer Bergland is a mountainous region between Dresden, the capital of Saxony, and the German-Polish border. You'll find it on both sides of the German-Czech border. The English name could be written as "lusatian mountains". It is not a high mountain region and consists of small and bigger hills and beautiful valleys.

The Lausitzer Bergland is a famous touristic region in Germany and its been shown in several movies because of the beauty of the landscape and the magnificent little villages with their churches in baroque style and their wooden houses. Especially the Czech side of the Lausitzer Bergland is an astonishing rural area in the middle of Europe.important towns and cities
Some of the bigger towns in this region are: Schirgiswalde, also known as the capital of carneval in the upper lusatia, Sluknov (Schluckenau) with its famous arboretum and Rumburk with its wonderful historical inner city. But not just the towns also the big villages of the region are attractive. The most important exambles are Ebersbach, Größschönau, Sohland an der Spree and Wehrsdorf
