Lawton Chiles High School is located on US 319 in the northern part of Bradfordville, Leon County, Florida, north of Tallahassee.

History

Chiles H.S. was established in 1999, and is the newest public high school in the Leon County school district. The first graduating class was the class of 2002. The school is named in honor of Lawton Chiles, governor of Florida from 1991 to 1998. The current princpal is Dr. Alan Cox.

School Motto: "Cognosco, Duco, Perficio" translates to "I learn, I lead, I achieve."

The school's sports team name is 'Timberwolves', and its colors are maroon, hunter green, and silver. The school competes in football, baseball, basketball, soccer, cross country (3A State Champs 2003,2005), track and field (3A State Champs 2003), crew, volleyball (first North Florida Men's Volleyball team), wrestling, golf, swimming, flag football, lacrosse, tennis, Special Olympics, weightlifting, and softball.
