Lee Mack

Lee Mack is an English stand-up comedian and television performer, easily recognisable because of his spindly, almost scarecrow-like frame. Born Lee McKillop, he is originally from Southport, Merseyside, where he attended Birkdale County Primary School, Bury Road, and later worked as a stable boy at the Upper Aughton Road stables of trainer Ginger McCain, home of record Grand National winner Red Rum.
He attended Brunel University in London, where he studied Television and Drama.
Best known for his work on The Sketch Show, Mack's style of humour is generally quite surreal and based around wordplay. An example of this is the opening of one of his routines while on tour in Australia. Mack would begin by saying "I've always wanted to have a big penis" before commenting "wrong punchline" over surprised laughter from the audience. He would then arrive at the "right" punchline of "I've always wanted to be big Down Under." He also played the part of Graham, the security guard in the original radio version of The Mighty Boosh.
He also has his own radio show on BBC radio 2 called "The Lee Mack show" which features a different celebrity co-hosting the show (often a solo artist). It even makes a radio appearance on the mighty boosh radio series; Vince Noir is flicking through the TV channels and skips past the Lee Mack show to watch colobus the crab.
Currently (2005), Lee Mack is presenting They Think It's All Over, a sports based comedy panel game, formerly presented by Nick Hancock. He is writing his first sitcom, Not Going Out for BBC1 with Andrew Collins. A pilot was recorded at the end of 2005.
