Leksand is a Municipality in central Sweden, in the Dalarna province, administratively in Dalarna County. Its seat is in Leksand with 5,700 inhabitants, situated at .
Other towns are Insjön, Siljansnäs, Tällberg and Djura. Also significant, half of the municipal population live in one of 94 villages.
Geography
Geographically the municipality is located alongside the Dalälven, (Dalecarlia River), and the town is at the southern shore of lake Siljan.The culture is marked by being in the heart of the culture rich Dalarna. There is a substantial old town sektion in Leksand, with small red houses.
