Lester Holt (born March 8, 1959) is co-anchor of Weekend Today television show on NBC in the United States. He became co-anchor of Weekend Today in 2003. Until late 2005, Holt also anchored a 2-hour daily newscast on MSNBC. He joined MSNBC in 2000, and in August 2005 assumed full-time duties at NBC News, where in addition to his work on "Weekend TODAY," he reports for "NBC Nightly News" and "TODAY." Before MSNBC he worked at WBBM-TV in Chicago from 1986 to 2000. Holt, from time to time fills-in for Matt Lauer on The Today Show. NBC News correspondent David Gregory fills in for Holt on the show.
