Mayor of Honolulu Lester Petrie, on the right, was the first in line at Liberty House department store on June 29, 1942 to purchase a war bond to kickoff Retailers for Victory Week.

Lester Petrie was the former Mayor of Honolulu who took control over Honolulu, Hawai'i after the city was attacked on December 7, 1941 by the Japanese military.
