LetterWise
Encyclopedia : L : LE : LET : LetterWise
LetterWise is the simplest possible text entry system for keypads on handheld devices such as mobile phones. It is even simpler to use than multi-tap. The users manual is one sentence: "Hit the key with the letter you want, if it doesn't come up, hit Next until it does."
Unlike multi-tap, LetterWise does not require a timeout or timeout kill, and requires about 1/2 as many keystrokes as multi-tap. It is billed as a predictive text for people who dislike predictive text.
LetterWise is a trademark of Eatoni Ergonomics, Inc., and is covered by various international patents.
