Lily Sharon

Rukhama "Lily" Sharon (1937-2000) was the second wife of Ariel Sharon and the sister of his former wife, Margalit. She was a Jew of Romanian origin, born in the city of Braşov.
After the death of Ariel's first wife, Margalit, in 1962, Lily helped Ariel take care of his first child, Gur (1956-1967), and eventually they got married. She was the mother of Omri and Gilad Sharon.
Lily died from cancer on March 23, 2000, at the age of 63. She was buried on Sharon's Sycamore Ranch. Critics of Sharon claim that it was illegal of him to bury her there outside of a recognized cemetery. Noam Federman has petitioned the court system to have her body moved to a recognized cemetery as a protest of Sharon moving bodies out of the Gush Katif Cemetery.
