Lionel Chalmers

Lionel Chalmers, Jr. (born November 10, 1980 in Albany, New York) is an American basketball player. He last played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2005-06 preseason, but was released into free agency before the regular commenced. Currently he plays for TAU Ceramica in the Spanish ACB.
Chalmers played his first three years of high school basketball at Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons in Schenectady, New York. He then transferred to Albany High School for his senior year.
Chalmers was drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers in the second round of the 2004 NBA Draft out of Xavier University, where he played for four years as an undergraduate and later a graduate student. He eventually lead his Xavier team during his senior season to the elite eight in the NCAA Tournament. He was traded to the Timberwolves on August 20th, 2005 with Marko Jaric for Sam Cassell.
He signed as a free agent with the Phoenix Suns on July 4 [[Citing sources citation needed]].
