This is a list of Alberta's primary and secondary highways:
Primary highways
These are the main highways in Alberta. They are numbered from 1 to 100, with the exception of the loop routes around Calgary and Edmonton which are numbered in the 200s. Highways 1, 2, 3, 4, 16 and 43 are the most important highways and are divided highways or freeways for much or all of their length. Speed limits are generally 100 km/h (65 mph) except on some divided highways and freeways which are 110 km/h (70 mph).

- Alberta provincial highway 201 "Stoney Trail"—(when completed will run from Highway 1 around Calgary to Highway 2 in the north. In the future, Highway 201 will be extended east from Highway 2 then follow an as-yet unnamed proposed freeway along Calgary's eastern boundary finally terminating at Highway 22X. As of the end of 2004, only the segment from the Trans-Canada Highway north to Country Hills Boulevard has been constructed.)
- Alberta provincial highway 216 "Anthony Henday Drive"—(a long term project to circle Edmonton. As of the end of 2005, the highway is in two segments: one segment on the west side of Edmonton running from Yellowhead Highway 16 south to Terwillegar Drive, and a second segment on the east side running from Highway 16 south to Whitemud Drive. A new segment connecting Terwillegar Drive and Highway 2 south is under construction to be completed by October 2006, and another segment connecting Highway 2 south and Whitemud Drive will likely be completed by 2007.)

Secondary highways
Highways 500 to 699 are east–west roads; higher numbered roads are in the north. Highways 700 to 899 are north–south roads; higher numbered roads are in the east. 900-series highways are newer routes that have been established as potential corridors for Primary highways. Some of these highways have gravel sections. Speed limits range from 80 km/h (50 mph) to 100 km/h (65 mph).

- Alberta secondary highway 628—(Spring Lake (Formerly Edmonton Beach) through Edmonton on Whitemud Drive and ending at Highway 21 near Sherwood Park), another 4 mile section further 2 miles to the east and 2 miles to the south that goes to Half Moon Lake
- Alberta secondary highway 630—"Wye Road" from the end of the Sherwood Park Freeway (Edmonton), to Highway 14, east of Tofield
- Alberta secondary highway 666—48 km spur west of Highway 40, 11 km south of Grande Prairie through the communities of Grovedale and Wapiti
