This is a list of current Asterix films and videogames.
Films
Many of Asterix's adventures have also been made into films:animation:
- 1967 – Asterix the Gaul (Astérix le Gaulois)
- 1968 – Asterix and Cleopatra (Astérix et Cléopâtre)
- 1976 – The Twelve Tasks of Asterix (Les douze travaux d'Astérix)
- 1985 – Asterix Versus Caesar (Astérix et la surprise de César)
- 1986 – Asterix in Britain (Astérix chez les Bretons)
- 1989 – Asterix and the Big Fight (Astérix et le coup du menhir) (book of the film: Operation Getafix)
- 1994 – Asterix Conquers America (Astérix et les indiens — produced in Germany as Asterix in Amerika)
- 2006 – Asterix and the Vikings (Astérix et les Vikings)
- 1999 – Asterix and Obelix Take On Caesar (Astérix et Obélix contre César)
- 2002 – Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra (Astérix & Obélix: Mission Cléopâtre)
- Announced 2006, planned for 2008 – Asterix in the Olympic Games (Astérix aux Jeux Olympiques)
note:
- No novelizations were made for Asterix the Gaul, Asterix in Britain or Asterix and Cleopatra which followed the original album relatively closely.
- The 1976 movie "The Twelve Tasks of Asterix" is the only animated movie that hasn't been based (at least loosely) on any of the Comic Books.
- The early films were a lot sillier and, in some instances, slightly absurd. They have not always been approved mainly due to their limited animation.
- Starting from 1985's Asterix Versus Caesar the animation quality improved dramatically. The 80s Asterix-films have been the most popular of the film adaptations.
- Asterix Conquers America lacked some of its predecessors' charm and received mixed reactions. It was the only one produced solely outside of France.
- Reactions have also been mixed over the live action adaptations.
