List of DanceSport dances
Encyclopedia : L : LI : LIS : List of DanceSport dances
The dances that make up the list of DanceSport dances are determined by the International DanceSport Federation (IDSF), the international governing body of amateur DanceSport, the World Dance and DanceSport Council (WD&DSC), the international governing body of professional DanceSport, and supplemented by the United States Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association (USABDA). The IDSF and WD&DSC define a total of ten international style ballroom dances, five of each Standard and Latin, while the USABDA also includes nine American style dances, four Smooth and five Rhythm. The organizations also specify the music tempo allowed in competitions for each of the dances, as well as the amount of time that the music may be played in a competition round.
