Hawaii County - Hilo
Honolulu County - Honolulu
Kalawao County - See Note Below
Kauai County - Lihue
Maui County - Wailuku

Kalawao County is depicted as a separate county on some maps and as part of Maui County on others. Wailuku is considered its county seat. However, the state of Hawaii still considers it a separate county. Its origins are based on the original need to isolate those persons afflicted with Hansen's Disease (Leprosy), and dates back to the days of the Kingdom of Hawaii.
