Beast Wars/Beast Machines Maximals

Optimus Primal, supreme commander of the Maximals. Beast form is a gorilla.
Rhinox - In charge of defense, his beast form is a rhinoceros. The only Maximal in the cartoon series to not undergo a physical upgrade.
Rattrap - Beast form is a rat. Being the team's spy, he pulled off many schemes to get the knowledge his team needed, including once defecting to the Predacons to find out secret information. Known for his smart-aleck attitude and preference of high explosives in combat. As a Transmetal, his vehicle mode is a high-powered car.
Cheetor - Jungle patrol, beast form is a cheetah.
Dinobot (former Predacon) - Combat specialist. Beast form is a velociraptor.
Tigatron - Team recon whose beast form was a white tiger. Became part of Tigerhawk.
Airazor - Air recon, beast form was a large falcon. Became part of Tigerhawk.
Silverbolt - Team recon, beast mode is a wolf/eagle hybrid. Is a condor in Beast Machines. Eventually falls in love with Blackarachnia.
Depth Charge - Former security officer at Colony Omicron, and sole survivor of it's destruction at the hands of Rampage, on whom he swore revenge. Beast form is a metallic manta ray.
Tigerhawk - Merged form of Tigatron and Airazor created by the Vok, beast form is tiger/falcon hybrid creature.
Blackarachnia (former Predacon) - Combat specialist, beast form was a black widow spider
Nightscream - Aerial scout, beast form is a bat.
Savage/Noble - Mutant, beast forms are humanoid wolf and mutant dragon.
Botanica- Botanist, alternate form is plant.

Here are the Maximals that didn't appear in the TV series (however, some of them have Japanese versions that appeared in the Japanese shows below this entry):

Polar Claw: Second In Command. Beast Mode is a polar bear. Appeared in the 2006 IDW Beast Wars comic series.
Silverbolt: Unlike the Fuzor Silverbolt, this one's animal form is a bald eagle. He can combine with Prowl and Ironhide to become Magnaboss.
Prowl: Beast mode is a lion. He can combine with Silverbolt and Ironhide to form Magnaboss.
Ironhide: Beast mode is an elephant. He can combine with Silverbolt and Prowl to form Magnaboss.
Cybershark: Beast mode is a hammerhead shark. Appeared in the 2006 IDW Beast Wars comic series.
Armordillo: Beast mode is an armadillo. Appeared in the 2006 IDW Beast Wars comic series.
Claw Jaw: Beast mode is a giant squid.
B'Boom (Mandrillo in some European countries): Beast Mode is a mandrill. Appeared in the 2006 IDW Beast Wars comic series.
Bonecrusher: Beast Mode is a bison. Appeared in Dreamwave Comics Summer Special. Appeared in the 2006 IDW Beast Wars comic series.
Wolfang: Beast Mode is a wolf. Appeared in Dreamwave Comics Summer Special. Appeared in the 2006 IDW Beast Wars comic series.
Grizzly-1: Beast Mode is a grizzly bear.
Onyx Primal: Beast Mode is a bat.
Snarl: Beast Mode is a Tasmanian Devil. Appeared in the 2006 IDW Beast Wars comic series.
K-9: Beast Mode is a German Shepherd Dog.
Grimlock: Former Autobot. Beast Mode is identical to Dinobot's.
Noctorro: Beast Mode is a bull/bat creature. Appeared in the 2006 IDW Beast Wars comic series.
Airhammer: Beast Mode is a hammerhead shark/eagle hybrid.
Bantor: Beast Mode is a baboon/tiger.
Torca: Beast Mode is a killer whale/elephant creature. Appeared in the 2006 IDW Beast Wars comic series and the Transformers: Universe comics.
Ramulus: Beast Mode is a bighorn sheep.
Transmetal 2 Prowl: Beast Mode is an owl.
Transmetal 2 Cybershark: Beast Mode is a shark.
Transmetal 2 Airazor: Beast Mode is a hawk.
Jawbreaker: Beast Mode is a hyena.

Optimus Minor: Beast Mode is a transmetal 2 monkey. Appeared in Dreamwave Comics Summer Special and the 2006 IDW Beast Wars comic series.
Sonar: Beast Mode is a bat.
Stinkbomb: Beast Mode is a skunk. Appeared in the 2006 IDW Beast Wars comic series.
Battle Unicorn: Beast Mode is a unicorn.
Beast Machines Snarl: Beast Mode is a lion.
Geckobot: Beast Mode is a flying lizard.
Longhorn: Beast Mode is a bull.
Beast Machines Buzzsaw: Beast mode is a bee.
Nightviper: Beast Mode is a cobra
Beast Machines Quickstrike: Beast Mode is a wolf.
Hammerstrike: Beast Mode is a hammerhead shark.

* Apelinq - Technical expert, beast form is a gorilla.

Beast Wars Second Maximals

Called Cybertrons in Japan. Led by LioConvoy, they pursed the Decepticons led by Galvatron to Planet Gaia. But their ship crashlanded and to survive the planet's corrosive atmosphere, they scanned animals for beast modes.

LioConvoy: The Leader with a strong sense of justice. After his supposed death, his body landed on Gaia, where he was saved by the white lion that he scanned for his beast mode. He's not so affectionate, and so rarely treats LioJunior like his "son".
Apache (repaint of B'Boom in US): The calm and loyal co-leader who loves to lecture everyone. He talks much like a veteran soldier. Beast mode is a mandrill with a gun platform mode.
Diver (repaint of Spittor in US): The cautious coward of the team whose best offense is a good defense. Beast mode is a frog.
Scuba (repaint of Clawjaw in US): A loner ninja warrior with dry wit. He is hydrokinetic and his beast mode is a giant squid
Tasmanian Kid (repaint of Snarl in US): The cheerful and mischievous member. He was hoping for a cool beast mode, similar to Cheetor & Airazor, but ended up as a Tasmanian devil.
Bighorn (repaint of Bonecrusher in US): The stubborn member of the team who gets excited when he sees a red flower. He pined for Scylle of the Seacons. Beast mode is a bison.
LioJunior (Prowl in US): A transformer created by Gaia when LioConvoy's Matrix reacted to the pure Angolmois energy, he was raised by the white lion who saved LioConvoy. When exposed to Angolmois energy again, LioJunior 'awakened' and went to meet his "father". He is an important component in the formation of Magnaboss, as the other two components are willing to follow him as his teacher/body guards.
Skywarp (Silverbolt in US): A upright and stern instructor who tends to be concerned about LioJunior's education. He and Santon were sent by Cybertron to find LioConvoy's team and help them stop Nemesis. His beast mode is a bald eagle
Santon (Ironhide in US): The greatest medic of the Maximal, he teaches LioJunior of life and how fragile it can be. He hates to fight, so he rescues those wounded instead. His beast mode is an elephant

Minor Maximals
* Insectrons: Bug Transformers who had quietly lived on the Antarctica region. But Starscream tricks them into fighting the Maximals for them until the ruse was ruined by Galvatron's fits. They had encountered AutoRollers when they were mercenaries.
** BigMos (Repaint of Transquito in US): The team leader. He was saved by AutoStinger in his mercenary days. Beast mode is a mosquito, with a 'antion' mode.
** PowerHug (repaint of Retrax in US): Judo master who sets store by etiquette. Beast mode is a pillbug.
** Tonbotto (repaint of Jetstorm in US): A affectioned scout, the fastest flyer in his group. Beast mode is a dragonfly.
** Mantis (repaint of Manterror in US): A lone samurai who doesn't hesitate to attack anybody who gets in his space. Beast mode is a praying mantis.
** DrillNuts (repaint of Drillbit in US): The team inventor, his beast mode is a weevil.
** Scissorboy (repaint of Powerpinch in US): The shatty and shrewd safecracker who becomes good friends with Tasmanian Kid. Beast mode is a earwig.
* Jointron Bros.: Three brother from planet Trias whose spaceship malfunctioned and they ended up on Gaia. The trio speak and act like 'stereotypical' Mexicans, preferring to lay about and be a mariachi band. But when they do fight, they combine to form Tripledacus.
** DJ (repaint of Cicadacon in US): The oldest brother, he emits a special sonicwave that reaches 10,000km away. His beast mode is a cicada
** Motorarm (repaint of Ramhorn in US): The middle brother, a sumo wrestler who represents Trias in the Space Sumo Association. Beast mode is a Hercules Beetle.
** Gimlet (repaint of SeaClamp in US): The youngest, the brightest and best dancing of the trio. Beast mode is a lobster.

Beast Wars Neo Maximals

Called Cybertrons in Japan. BigConvoy is made as a mentor to a team of cadets as they travel the universe to get all the Anglomois Capsules before the Predacons led by Magmatron do. Most are exclusive in Japan, with few recolors and/or remolds.

Big Convoy: The legendary one-man-army who became the teacher of the Maximal cadets. Beast-mode is a wooly mammoth, with a tank mode.
Longrack: The upperclass cadet appointed as second in command. Beast mode is a giraffe, with a crane mode.
Corada: The loner who acts like a jerk, but is a good fighter in desert environments. His beast is a cobra, with a battle mode.
Stampy: The fast-moving recon, though he tend frighten easily. Beast mode is a rabbit, with a scissors mode.
Break: The temperamental member of the team, his greatest weapon is his emotions. Beast mode is an Emperor penguin with a blaster-mode.
Heinlad: The most mysterious of the cadets, the clock in his stomach somehow alters time when activated. Beast mode is a tanuki.
Machkick: He was co-leader and survivor of the Maximal Thoroughbred, who were wiped out by Magmatron's planet-like Porcupine fortress. He joins BigConvoy's team, though he is more experienced then the cadets. His beast mode is a horse.

Minor Maximals
* RockBuster (same mold as Razorclaw in US): A old war buddy of BigConvoy who offered his friend the chance to relive their glory day by ditching the cadets. Beast mode is a fiddler crab
* Randy (same mold as Razorbeast in US): The headstrong sort, he was stationed on planet Tube on a solo mission to protect the endangered wildlife there. Beast mode is a wild boar
* Sharpedge: He believes the fighting is the only way someone can truly live, he considered himself as BigConvoy's rival. Beast mode is a saw shark.
* Bump (Same mold as Armordillo in US): Modest and reserved, he feels most happy when rolled up. Beast mode is an armadillo.
* Survive (Same mold as Polar Claw in US): BigConvoy's former teacher. Feared as a hard-hearted sergeant among Cybertron trainees, but has a gentle nature. He really wants BigConvoy back in his regime. Beast mode is a bear.
