Rhode Island has no county level of government and thus no county seats. Government at the local level is via its municipalities. There are, however, counties on the map that are mainly for geographic specificity and regional identity. The counties (and their County Seats) as listed on most maps, and in most reference works are listed below for information only.

2. Kent County - East Greenwich
3. Newport County - Newport
4. Providence County - Providence
5. Washington County - West Kingston
