The following contains descriptions of the various characters that appear throughout the Tekken fighting game series.
The main story revolves around a series of tournaments held by the Mishima Zaibatsu, a Japanese conglomerate run by Heihachi Mishima. (Or by his son Kazuya at time of Tekken 2) Originally called the Rave War, it is renamed King of the Iron Fist Tournament by the time Tekken 3 is held. The timeline is held about 30 years in the future for the first two Tekken tournaments, then fast-forwards to 50 years in the future for the next three Tekken tournaments. During that time more characters with different martial arts skills enter the storyline.
