The following is a list of billionaires, in United States dollars, worldwide for 2006 compiled by Forbes, not including heads of state whose wealth is tied to their position (see list of heads of government and state by net worth). In 2006, there are 793 billionaires from 49 countries, with more than half being in the United States and Germany. 2006 saw an increase in billionaires from Russia, India, and Brazil due to economic growth in those countries.
