This listing: List of birds, Yuma, Arizona (low deserts, river, elevations) is set up in a check-list format, but its style is not meant for a checklist. Its purpose will be to make notations referencing the seasonal traits of specific species. (For example the Long-billed curlew visits only the city proper in winter, and grassy expanses, exclusively(i.e. the City Parks, golf courses, etc).)

The river reference is the Colorado River, (the N-South border with California). However, various water sources are in the environs, (the Gila River, etc; also, the Gulf of California is a (–winter-range–)destination of some birds). (Add notes on 'Waters', on Talk.)

The "mountains", or higher desert locations may rise to above 1500 m, or about 4000 Ft. Yuma County's mountains are contrasted against SE Arizona's Sky island Mtns, part of the Madrean Sky Island Biome.

The Cactus Wren, a bird symbolic to Arizona, common in the hot, lower Sonoran Desert environment. Campylorhynchus brunneicapillus.
