As of June 2004, the FCC had licensed 4,771 AM stations, 6,218 commercial FM stations, and 2,497 educational FM stations.Canada
Canada has approximately 2,000 originating radio stations, not including rebroadcast transmitters. National radio networks include CBC Radio One, CBC Radio Two, La Première Chaîne, Espace musique and Aboriginal Voices. Major ownership groups include Standard, Astral, CHUM, Rogers, Rawlco and Newcap.
