The fashionable London postal district of N1 covers the areas of Islington, Barnsbury, Canonbury, De Beauvoir Town and Hoxton. Some of Regent's Canal is also in N1.
It is the nearest Northern district to the centre of London and so is given the designation 1, whereas the rest follow an alphabetical order.
