Encyclopedia : L : LO : LON : Long Creek, Texas
Long Creek, Texas, is the name of a former town on the eastern side of Dallas County. In 1953, it merged with the three nearby towns of Hatterville, New Hope, and Tripp to form the town of Sunnyvale, Texas.
Out of all four former towns that form Sunnyvale, Long Creek is the oldest. James Madison Bennett, an early Texas pioneer, settled here during the Republic of Texas's rule over the area. [link]
