Long Night's Journey is a trade papeback collecting comic stories based on the Angel television series.
- Not to be confused with the Angel episode, "Long Day's Journey", or the Angel novel, "The Longest Night"
General synopsis
Angel is looking for a kidnapped child and stumbles upon huge powerful forces of evil. Angel fights some of the most threatening monsters around.
Angel 2#1
- Comic title: 'Long Night's Journey, part 1'
- ::Angel's searching for a kidnapped child, only to stumble upon a force of unspeakable evil and unimaginable power.
Angel 2#2
- Comic title: Rock and a Hard Place
- ::The search continues as Angel fights a walking volcano. Angel must survive the molten enemy long enough to discover who or what is behind the recent strange series of events. Wesley, Cordelia, and Gunn hope to find their employer but worry they may find nothing but ashes.
Angel 2#3
- Comic title: Thicker Than Water
- ::The strange evil that has been threatening Angel and his friends reveals itself. Angel, Wesley, Cordelia, and Gunn try to put the pieces together in time to make sense of present events, a possible product of Angel's past events.
Angel 2#4
- Comic title: The End of the Beginning
- ::Angel must face his past as he finally discovers the connection between himself and Perfect Zheng. A battle for survival between the pair ensues.
Trivia
- Mel Rubi also penned comics such as Witchblade, Aliens, Darkness, and Predator: Mindhunter.
- Promoted as "Angel retooled and reinvented" by Dark Horse, the storyline represents an attempt to make Angel a comic-book hero in a more traditional sense, battling against huge behemoths of monsters.
- These were the final Angel comics until IDW began publishing them in 2005.
Continuity
- Supposed to be set early in Angel Season 2.

- Joss Whedon co-wrote the story for this comic, so it is largely accepted as 'canon' by fans.
