The name "Longines Symphonette" is now mostly known as a reference in the song "Birdhouse in Your Soul" by They Might Be Giants, as something that is "infinite" and "doesn't rest". The song is written as a narrative from the point-of-view of a bedroom nightlight so the reference could also be to another device in the room, A Longines Symphony radio, perhaps.
