Ludden is a city in Dickey County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 29 at the 2000 census. Ludden was founded in 1886.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.0 km² (0.8 mi²), all land.
Demographics
As of the census[Geographic references#2GR2] of 2000, there were 29 people, 15 households, and 10 families residing in the city. The population density was 14.5/km² (37.7/mi²). There were 18 housing units at an average density of 9.0/km² (23.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 100.00% White.There were 15 households out of which 20.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.3% were married couples living together, and 26.7% were non-families. 26.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.93 and the average family size was 2.27.
In the city the population was spread out with 10.3% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 17.2% from 25 to 44, 44.8% from 45 to 64, and 20.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 50 years. For every 100 females there were 107.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 116.7 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $26,250, and the median income for a family was $36,250. Males had a median income of $40,625 versus $16,250 for females. The per capita income for the city was $20,770. There were no families and 7.4% of the population living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and 50.0% of those over 64.
