Ludek Pachman

Ludek Pachman (Czech: Luděk Pachman, May 11 1924, Bělá pod Bezdězem, today Czech Republic – March 6 2003, Passau, Germany) was a Czechoslovak-German chess grandmaster and political activist. In 1972, after being persecuted by the communist regime in the Czechoslovakia, he moved to West Germany where he lived for the rest of his life.

Qh7! the game could have continued - until this point the attack was not decisive; but it is not easy to find such moves over the board in the limited time. Pachman was a good chess practitioner and knew well where it pays to take a risk in the game.
