The Lumberjack Conference is a sports conference in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association. It has seven members.

Introduction
This conference is unique as its members compete with each other in everything except football. The football aspect of the conference dissolved prior to the 2003 season. The reason for this was the varying levels of the teams who rank from Division 1 to Division 4. As of 2006 most former members play independent schedules with Ashland playing many opponents from Minnesota.Major Members
Ashland
Ashland is the second largest school in the conference only to Lakeland. Ashland teams have enjoyed much success because of this. Football is the primeir sport for the Oredockers.Lakeland
Lakeland Union High School is located in Minacqua, Wisconsin. The Thunderbirds boast the largest student population (near 1,000) in the Lumberjack. They are also the only D1 school in the conference. They have dominated in most in-conference sports over time except for hockey. However hockey is not necessarily a weak spot for the T-Birds. They have been heavily courted in recent years by the elite athletic conference in Wisconsin, The Wisconsin Valley Confernece. This is due to their large size and continued athletic prowess.Medford
Medford is the third largest school of the seven and similar to Ashland and Lakelend has dominated because of it. The Red Raiders had a long list of football regular season titles before the sport was dissolved from the conference in 2003.Other Schools
Northland Pines
Pines is ranked fifth out of seven in student population. They suffer in athletics form having to compete with the likes of Lakeland, Ashland, and Medford. However when hockey season rolls around they exact revenge on everyone else. Despite the fact that there is only one division in hockey in the WIAA the Northland Pines Eagles (WIAA) crush opponents and are unmatched when it comes to conference titles. A contributing factor to this is that they paly in arguably the toughest arena in the state: Eagle River Stadium.Park Falls
The smallest school in conference does not slack off when it comes to athletics. They may not prosper as the major schools do but they certainly not a weak school. The Cardinals are especially trying in football.Phillips
Second-to-last in student population has hurt the Loggers heavily in the past few years. Athletics has dropped in many categories including an 0-8 record in football in 2005.Tomahawk
Of the so-called minor schools Tomahawk alongside Northland Pines put up the best fight year-in and year-out. Fourth in student population coupled with a lot of determination helped the Hatchets reach the playoffs in football in 2006 and place second in the conference in hockey.
