Encyclopedia : M : MR : MRC : Márcio dos Santos Gaia

Márcio dos Santos Gaia, commonly known as Santos Gaia, (born September 8, 1978 in São Mateus) is a Brazilian footballer currently playing for English Conference side Stevenage Borough.

The defender holds a Spanish passport (gained through marriage), which enabled him to earn a work permit to play in England. He signed for Exeter in August 2002, and despite the side's relegation from the Football League in his first season, he has been a popular player and a key part of the first team. The 2004/05 season saw him among the club's top scorers, unusually for a defender, with 9 goals, all of which were scored in the first half of the season.

On June 26th, 2006 Gaia signed a two year contract with Conference side Stevenage Borough.
