M-134 (Michigan highway)

M-134 is a state trunkline route in the Upper Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan.
The 33.19 mile route in Mackinac and Chippewa counties runs from north of St. Ignace to DeTour Village and from DeTour utilizes the Drummond Island Ferry to cross the DeTour Passage to Drummond Island. It is one of only three state trunkline routes in Michigan on islands (the others are M-154 on Harsens Island and M-185 on Mackinac Island).
A portion of the route, from north of St. Ignace to the Mackinac/Chippewa county line was originally designated as M-4 and was redesignated as M-134 in 1939, although most of the roads in this original route have been returned to local control as new alignments for the route were built. In the 1940s, the route was extended eastward to DeTour Village, and in 1988, the route was extended across the Detour Passage to Drummond Island.
From 1928 until 1938, M-134 was designated on a road in Missaukee County from M-66 three miles north of McBain east to Falmouth. In 1938, the road returned to local control.
The western terminus of M-134 is on I-75 at Exit 359 north of St. Ignace.
The eastern terminus is on Drummond Island at "Four Corners," south of the community of Drummond.
