M-42
M-42 is an east-west highway in northwestern lower Michigan. Along its route, M-42 passed through Mesick, Manton and ends north of Lake City.
In the 1930's, M-42 turned north at Sherman, going through Buckley, Chum's Corners, Traverse City, and stopping at the tip of the Old Mission Peninsula at the Old Mission Lighthouse. This stretch of road is now part of M-37. In 1951, the only remaining gravel stretch of M-42 from M-66 to Manton was paved.

The western terminus of M-42 is located along M-37 east of Mesick.Eastern Terminus
