M15 General Officers
Encyclopedia : M : M1 : M15 : M15 General Officers
M15 General Officers is a .45 ACP pistol adopted in 1972. It is similar to the Colt Combat Commander, a downsized version of the Government Model M1911, but is even smaller. Rather than a standard 7-round magazine like the Government Model, or the Commander, it uses a 6-round magazine. This model is commonly referred to as the "Officer." There is some disagreement in sources over its formal designation, possibly either Pistol, General Officers', Caliber .45, M15 or Pistol, Cal. .45, Semi-automatic, M1911A1, General Officer's.
