M1 (Copenhagen)
Encyclopedia : M : M1 : M1C : M1 (Copenhagen)
The M1 Line is a line of the Copenhagen Metro, coloured green on the map. It runs from Vanløse to Vestamager through the centre of Copenhagen, sharing track with M2. As there are no S-Train lines on Amager, the main purpose of M1 is to connect Ørestad with the rest of Metropolitan Copenhagen. The track is elevated from ground level on western Amager.
History
M1 opened on October 19 2002 with traffic from Nørreport to Vestamager. On May 29 2003 it was extended to Frederiksberg, and on October 12 2003 it was extended all the way to Vanløse which is its current length.Map
