MCTV
Encyclopedia : M : MC : MCT : MCTV
MCTV was a Canadian system of television stations in Northern Ontario, which existed from 1980 to 2005. Most of the stations were operated under the Canadian twinstick model, where a single broadcaster operates both CTV and CBC affiliates due to the community's size and economic circumstances. For the system's history prior to 1990, see Mid-Canada Communications; for history after the system's 1990 acquisition by Baton Broadcasting, see CTV Northern Ontario.
MCTV may also refer to a number of cable public access channels in the United States, including in Gresham, Oregon, San Mateo, California, Millbrae, California, Mount Shasta, California, Manchester, New Hampshire, Tempe, Arizona, Allentown, Pennsylvania, Turners Falls, Massachusetts, Martin County, Florida and Midland, Michigan, or to a community television station in Mandurah, Australia. None of these have any connection to the Canadian MCTV.
