MLME Stands for Media Access Control (MAC) Sublayer Management Entity. MLME is the management entity where the Physical layer (PHY) MAC state machines reside. Examples of of states a MLME may assist in reaching:

Deauthenticate
Associate
Disassociate
Reassociate
Beacon
Probe
